Sat, 2016-03-19 22:33

Fished from 3.30pm hooked and dropped a couple at Bunkers this arvo, only saw one small school, then to finish off a bit of commotion with my dog and a shark trying to get a salmon the guy next to me was landing, my dog ended up with a smiling jack in her leg.............. Better then her ending up in the shark though

Did you at least learn your lesson? Ya know, the one where you should keep your dog under control so it doesn't annoy & cause hassles for others..... If your dog won't listen to you then either don't have it on the beach or tie him up.

salmon

I find salmon O.K. as food when its all you have.I cut the white meat into chunks and bounce in a bag full of spices then pan fry with no butter so the spices spread through the meat then add a small amount of butter when you flip it so it remoistens.I seen it on a show and it works good

I was told there is a huge school down at Hamelin bay 300 -400 tonnes and the sharks and dolphins are having a feast that would be awesome to watch

Worth it?

Sun, 2016-03-20 21:19

I live in Perth and was wondering if there were enough schools around to make a day trip south to hopefully get into a school land based? I might try to make the long journey and try to go between the capes and try to find a school. Also is there a specific spot to get down to the beach without a 4X4 that we should try to look at?

thanks,

lachie

Couple of small schools near

Wed, 2016-03-23 04:58

Couple of small schools near Cosy Corner yesterday. The crowds are already in full swing though & it got pretty agro between a few people for awhile. Practice patience people, there's plenty of fish for everyone if we use a little patience & work together. Still, I had my fish early & it was entertaining to sit back watch the late crowd almost come to blows over a nice cold brew.

Cosy corner attracts a few

Thu, 2016-03-24 16:16

Cosy corner attracts a few DH's. I had a group set up around me once, so in the end I had blokes fishing a foot either side of me with bare rock and plenty of space on the next rock over. Didnt speak english so i had to resort to making hissing noises and swinging my rod around until they gave me some space.

hit a good size school today

Fri, 2016-03-25 19:33

hit a good size school today about 50 ton easy out in the boat off a major reef break between the capes ..... hungry , as they hit any lure we ditched at them with gusto ,

we drifted alongside them for quite a while , until a big pod of dolphins smashed into them and made them walk on water almost lol , jeez they get up and go sprayed out across about 100 metres of ocean as they erupted and took off

much better day out on the water than forecast too
