Dunsborough
Dunsborough is your starting point, turn right and head towards Cape Naturaliste, turn right at Meelup turn off.The two next two beaches [Castle rock bay,Meelup] and Point Piquet,Gannet rock and Eagle bay are spots where the salmon will all have salmon travelling through, its just that you have to sit ,wait and be ready as soon as a school passes through.
Further down the main cape road is Bunker bay,at the far right [southern] end is Rocky Point, the fish school up there and sometimes on the middle reef half way down the bay, sadly no 4x4 on the beach.
Back to Dunsborough, turn left towards Yallingup,if you head down to the beach shop, turn left and about 100 metres down is a track to the beach, good for salmon first thing in the mornings.
Back half way up the hill there is a car park lookout. The track takes you down to Torpedo rock,It can be a dangerous fishing spot in rough weather but in fine is ok if you do not step on the black slimey rocks, good for salmon, herring.
Right at the top of the hill is the turn off to Canal rocks and Smiths beach, both ok for salmon and last of all for the ones close to Dunsy is the next turn past Canal rocks,it takes you to Injidup,Mitchells rock and Wyadup.
Take the left turn to Injidup and about 2-300 metres down the road is a turn on the right to Mitchells rock, the better of the three in my opinion.
Hope this is of some help

Can I suggest that you pick one, maybe two spots
and then stick to them. If you start racing up and down the coast trying different spots you are highly likely to arrive to find that a school has just passed through.
If you want to add 4WD to your adventure then I would definately have a look at Hamelin Bay.

a ABSOLUTELY
AWESOME 4x4 trip is warren beach
getting there requires you to descend the huge calcup hill and on the way back you have to make it up.
frequently requires tyr pressures of 11 or 12 PSI
this trip is for "real 4x4" no subaru's or rav 4, these cars will just bottom out
a hilux, landcruiser or triton, utes are exccelent here with high clearanceand light
our triton took 1 attempt up the hill, some landcruiser took 5, and before he laughed at our car
not a good spot for the inexperieced

Good advice..
Well guys we went down to marlamup beach and had a ball!!!! the summertime track is light fun and then as we got over the hill top and saw the beach it was amasing.... the weather for the long weekend was fantastic and best of all was the salmon fishing.... 4 of us fished and we got about 50 fish with only 6 fish that we could not release so they became supprisingly good fish patties and fish pie.... beautiful drive down the sw highway too- that will definatly become a reocuring anual trip for us... will post some pics when my mate gives me them from his camera.
