Salmon Footage

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnsb7CeCh4A

hope that works. i downloaded some half reasonable footage from last salmon mission. this was the second half of a pasting that a 85cm salmon dished out to my dad on a 2-4kg rod and a diawa excelliar 2500(I think thats what it is?)
the new olympus tough u8000 seems to go pretty sweet underwater too. stoked with that.

It was like a tennis match - the way he was going from one side of the boat to the other. I'm pretty impressed with how well that rod loaded up.

yeah cheers
the rod is a silstar powertip. cheap but pretty bloody strong. others will have better action but for about $50, this one you can lean right into and not cry if you do end up pushing it too far. i've had a ~8kg one for years now and its doubled over trying to pry spanglies away from bombies inside the reef at tantabiddy more times than i can remember. good rods IMO.
glad you liked the footage. i'll try get more this weekend with my sister and brother in law - they HATE catching salmon - not.
