Sandies....

Well is coming closer to that time of the yet when I go chasing sand whiting. Any of you blokes fish for them down mandurah dawesville way? What depth do you fish in chasing the bigger ones?

Cheers

Fishing from mandurah or dawesville. I know of the whoting patch. But was thinking somewhere south of dawesville to stop on the way home from a bad day dhuie fishing

Depth was more to do with seeing the sand or not. If vis is good, or the sounder is flash enough to pick sand, fish deeper. Otherwise you can get them in pretty shallow. Use heavy chook pellets to berley up (I tend to anchor for these) and squid for bait (fresh tenticles best).

I dont use tiny hooks because the bigger sandies will be hooked and KGs also turn up.
