Well, on saturday night Me and JohnM_93 headed to the north mole with the other FW guys in hope of something decent. Rays was all that was around. 6 by the time we left i think. met Sherbs there and suggested we head to his spot, for a fish and a big cat hunt ;). so, a while later, we arrived to a moderate NE, which was alright. rods in the water, we sat back after managing to find some fire wood to start a fire. heard some russeling int he scrub behind us, to the disapointment of only a small fox. at abouyt 2am, my big rod went off. it wasnt fighting much at all, until it got in close then it took off, busting me off on the reef. we then went to sleep, hoping for some tailor in the morning. up at 6 we were met by a freeeezing cold wind. ended up putting a thermal balaclava on, it was so cold. first cast in by 6:15, i had hooked up to what i thought was a big tailor. got it over the reef, to me feet to see a huge snook. measured at 78cm long. second cast i got a sizeable tailor, at 48cm. John and Sherbs wernt having much luck on the big fish, but managed to get a good 15 herring, losing heaps more. was a good weekend, regardless of the temperature and lack of big fish. thanks sherbs for taking us up, deffinately do it again. oh, and no big cats this time, but we will get it eventually.
