canning river

hey guys been lure fishing the canning river for about 5 years now and have just been given a quality camera for my birthday. On a rising tide in late afternoon seems to be the best time to pick up the bigger bream. Recently have been catching some big flatties on both hardbodies and soft plastics. Anyway here are photos, will post more hoping that i remember to bring my camera with me!

i'm still trying to pop my flatty on a lure cherry.

what do you think is the biggest size lure in mm a canning flatty would take?

I've got them on a 6cm

I've got them on a 6cm HRT Dancer. I reckon they'd take bigger than that though, they've got pretty big gobs.

i have caught them on lures

i have caught them on lures around 8cm, but really any minnow shaped lure will do the job. I have found that the flatties follow the lure for a while and strike only a couple of meters away from you. Just revieved the rapala huskyjerk so will give it a test tomorrow!

hey scottland i see in your pic you have taken the 2 trebles off and unsed just a normal single hook on the back.

do you think you get more hookups this way?

whats the reason why you would take the front trable off?
