Scratched that jigging itch again...
Hi crew well it's been a while since I threw up a report but with the weather and swell finally easing for the day the Twitch couple decided to get out for a jig while we could....
We headed out yesterday (Sunday the 7th) from my local ramp (Port Denison) the forecast was for light NW/NE winds with a 2.5m easing swell but with a 100% chance of rain so we loaded up the wet weather gear and of we went...
I decided to play it safe with the storm front looming in the distance and stay inshore untill we had sussed the conditions out fully...
First stop was my "secret" Trout mark and after 2 drifts and getting smoked into the coral below 3 times in a row on PE 3 and donating $100 worth of jigs to the Trout I decided to head to the next spot..
Next spot in 32m produced these little fellas (Sambo's) one after another, here's the missus with one that nailed her 7 inch Mcarthy placcy on the drop... good fun on 10lb gear.....
After spending an hour or 2 catching 1 - 4kg Sambos mixed in with heaps of 450 - 600mm Pink Snapper, the weather was getting better and the storm front seem to be holding off and with no sign of rain coming we headed for a mark I had been hanging to drop jigs and plastics on for quite a while.....
Upon arrival the HDS lit up big time with a whole lot of action goin on below I couldn't tie on a jig quick enough...
Here is the HDS showing Dhuie schools sitting under the bait mixed with Sambo's and Pink Snapper... Gotta love seeing the sounder look like that....
First drop one jig up and bang on big time to a thumper Dhu on PE 2 that spat the jig and re ate it 3 times in a row (all on video some great footage) on the 3rd hit I finally hooked up solid but after an epic battle the big Dhu banger spat the assist hook once again and didn't come back for round 4....
Next drop after losing the big fella this healthy Dhu smashed the Ima Ro...
By this stage the fish were going off with almost a fish a drop smackin our jigs and plastics... This 550mm Red Throat Emperor was a surprise and came well off the bottom to nail the Ro...
After playing around on the PE 1 - 2 gear I just had to brake out my new Shimano Terez PE 2-3 stick (to be released soon) and instantly hooked up solid to.......
.... this 580mm Baldy which gave the Terez a work out...
After nailing the Baldy I couldn't help myself and had to switch back to PE 2 and sure enough the biggest fish of the day this 12kg Sambo crunched the jig mid water and gave me one hell on a fight.. Happy days....
Then around 3pm it turned into Dhu o clock with a Dhu a drop for close to an hour the Dhu schools had moved in big time although no monsters all between 500 - 670mm... still cant complain and a great way to top of the day we even left them biting which was not easy to do lol...
Total for the day was 21 Dhu's (2 kept), 20 odd Sambo's, 10 or so smallish Pinkys, 2 x Baldys (1 kept) and a Red Throat Emp (kept) all other fish were released fine with only 1 Dhu needing the release weight. Great day out with the missus with so many fish on the chew before the storm front was due to hit, which funny enough held of untill we were back at the ramp around 5pm..
Cheers for the read as always crew..

Looks a super fun day out. What are the Terez rods like? Looked on Tackle Direct and they look pretty bling and have K guides as well - NICE :)
Do they make them in the lighter line classes?
