Scratched Windscreen fix

Just trying to find out whether anyone has used Meguires PlastX to restore their Acrylic windscreen?

Currently the screen has some light scratching from the cover travelling back from Shark bay, hoping this may clear it up again as just replaced the windscreen it 6 months ago.

Hi Jason P,

I have used that stuff (with a drill bit polisher) on my clears that were fogging and it didn't make that much difference.  You would do better with a more agressive cut if you are actually trying to remove scratches.

Cheers

Cerium Oxide works well on

Cerium Oxide works well on glass not 100% sure on acrylictry a small bit in the corner or a scrap bit first

just dont overheat the acrylic whilst doing it or it will distort , if you use a drill polishing bit ( have some one help you , cerium oxide comes in a powder get it into a paste (use water for this) use the second person with a spray bottle and water to keep the polishing wheel cool , constantly spraying you'll see the paste drying out if it starts getting hot any way

heatley sales should have the polishing bit and cerium oxide

Acrylic windows and they came up a treat.. This was recommended by the son in law who is a plastics fabricator..
Hell of a lot cheaper than those wankie products and prob does a better job..
