I shop there every week
It just shits me when you see a scumbag like this taking advantage of a small buisness owner.
Mark, Phil and Allison and there team are the best tackle store owners i know of.

What a piece of human excrement
This sort of thing has to stop. It cost both big and small businesses hundreds of millions of dollars and is rampant Australia wide. I strongly believe that there should be a programme on the local (WA) tv at prime time showing these types of crimes being committed.
The more exposure to the public gaze of these stealing bastards at work the more chance of them being identified and caught, by either the law or a right minded citizen.
In Wednesdays west there is usually a page on the local low life the cops would "like to interview" about matters which have taken place.
I don't think it would be too hard to put a list of sites up that have video of the last acts by these types.
Let the phrase for today be, forever vigilant.

What did the guy steal?
What did the guy steal? Couldn't see the video clearly.
Also, surely it's not too hard for stores that have cctv, to have a monitor near the staff counter so staff can glimpse at what's going on around the store?

So what your saying is that
So what your saying is that you feel that a member of staff sit on their ring all day watching cctv assuming everyone's a piece of sh1t that walks into the store. Just another expense to be absorbed by store and passed on to the consumer, who cares what he stole he clearly did it and deserves to be publicly shamed better still be given a floggn like some other countries would

What I'm saying is that
What I'm saying is that it'll be benefit the store to "observe" any suspicious behaviour via cctv. They don't need to sit there all day. The store already has cctv in place. Hooking up a monitor near the checkout would assist with theft. Imagine if a staff member saw the theft on a monitor. He could then call another staff member. The two of them could then approach the guy and ask him to empty his pockets, or pants in this case.
Lost & stolen goods could mean an insurance claim, which could mean an insurance premium increase the following year. Which can also mean passing the cost onto consumers.
Anyways, just my 2 cents on the matter.

They do have monitors, back
They do have monitors, back office and front counter, if someone looks suss one of the staff will check the CCTV.
They have been broken into a few time, now have the roller shutters over the doors and full coverage CCTV.
All this to try and reduce costs from theft, which would raise the cost to the consumer.
My better half Debbie works there and I have known Mark, Phil and the crew for a number of years.
Its a shame that you need to have CCTV and other measures to try and stop low life scum stealing from you.
It takes something away from the frendly family stores.

Singapore security
When I first visited Singapore a great many years ago, outside selected shops stood a very big Malaccan native armed with a pick handle.
There was no shop lifting from any of these stores.

Wouldn't want the stock back
Wouldn't want the stock back anyway after it's touched his filthy cock. Just claim the insurance. I had some gear nicked from outside my workshop again the other day, If I catch this prick I won't be calling the coppers.

great news
I was in the shop on Saturday for the stores 18th Birthday specials (full on day at the store) and asked them about the shit bag. Great to see they got the turd. it really does suck though the lengths you have to go to secure your own stuff. I'm selling one of my motorbikes soon and trying to work out how to do it without having people come to my house to check it out (case the joint) is a drama. A mate had people come to his place to check his bike out out and a week later it was stolen. Anyway, good result for the Complete Angler and the power of social media sharing the video.

The police do their job
The police catch'em which is their job, it's the judiciary system that is not applying a sentence that makes the criminal wish he hadn't done the crime.
Truth be known the guy probably has quite a few fines outstanding and this fine is just one more to the list.

I have been told "of the record" that if you catch one of these scumbags ,its best to ring the police after they have fallen down your front steps, across your front lawn, and on to the road. When you can report that there is a disreputable looking type asleep on the road in front of your house.

Mate of mine who was a bread
Mate of mine who was a bread delivery guy at the time and would sleep through the day, woke up one day with one of these individuals in his house trying to steal his telly. So Mong (not a small fella) dragged said individual into the street and gave him a severe 'talking to' and somehow the guy passed out right there. Someone picked the wrong house that day.
