Diy Teak deck looks better & add value,if you can afford it and easy to wash down.

Ex mate's boat 47ft big back deck,we put down a thin carpet (blue smooth not ribbed, glued down )as the thinner the carpet the quicker it is to dry a thick carpet takes forever to dry.

Trick is to wet it before you fish so blood doesn't stain.

teak looks great but is a pain in the @ rse if you want to keep it looking "honey coloured" - and it gets hot in the sun,
If you want it to look honey coloured you have to keep a good oil up on it - and they are not cheap,
If you are happy for it to go grey its a lot easier to maintain (brush across the grain with sea water to clean)and it does not get as hot
I love it - but its a body of work to maintain!

have a look at rubeer floor matting Regipol.    We have it on our rescue boats and all Naiads use it on rear decks , works really well

Just a quick up date for anyone interested ,I ended up opting for the deck armour with a company called Pure decks have to say it looks great completely changed the appearence of the boat (carribean 35) and Troy was great to deal with honest with everything up front which is a change from the norm these days .I got sick of the carpet as it held water and mulies and squid would get stuck in it all the time . It feels great under foot and great grip but cant comment on how it stands up to fishing as yet as havent had it down long enough . I will post some pictures next week in a different post.
