Im beach fishing atm and pulled in my bait because its been quite for 20 mins or so and my bait was crawling with maggot looking things. Whats the go, keep fishing? Gotta get it off the bottom I guess but will fish still take a bait full of them things?

Bum bugs
Sea lice, better known as bum bugs on pro boats.
Most of the new deckies won't wear boots and when you tell them that bum bugs climb up their legs and into their arsehole then eat their way around inside it soon changes their tune and boots are the first thing they buy.
When you drop a pot on the sand during the dark of the moon don't expect to have any bait in it the next morning, all that will be left is clean bones and not a skerrick of meat left on them. Same goes for fish in a net, just a bag of skin and bones rattling inside.

Does your bait smell?
You can try spraying it with air freshener before you cast...
