Sealing fuel tank fittings

Hey FW crew. Just removed the old stainless tank from my tinny, and gone to twin Scepter 25L plastic tanks. The plastic tanks have a composite 1/4 npt female fitting, to which I have added a brass 1/4 npt 90 degree m/f elbow, and a brass Yamaha quick connect fitting. What's people's opinion on the best way to seal these?

A quick check shows fuel seeping between the brass/composite join and also the brass/brass. I don't want to over tighten and crack the composite part. Will Teflon tape (like plumbers use) be OK, or some type of loctite product?

Cheers,

BD

I would use gas tape, pretty much the same as plumbers tape but yellow and made for fuel and gas applications. Bunnings will have it.

I wouldn't use it on the composite join he was asking about, its only for metal fittings as far as I know and will likely destroy the thread if it ever turns
