Servicing saltiga 2010

Hi again fellas, my saltiga 2010 has been put through quite heavy use over the last few months. Just wondering if any of you saltiga 2010 owners has serviced your reel recently? Is there any local shops that do it? And how much? Or do you need to send it back to daiwa? If so how long it took and also how much?

Thanks

When we needed one of our reels serviced we just took it to the local fishing tackle shop. They can normally service them in there for you. If not they will send it away. The best bet would be to contact a few in your area and ask them if they service them in their shop or send them away.

Also from our own personal experience I would rather get them serviced in the shop then sent away. We had a $1000+ reel that had to be sent away for servicing and over 2 months later it still hadn't come back. In the end we recieved a new reel from the shop as the one that was sent away was still under warranty!

Hope that help jsut a little bit?

They are not hard to do a basic service yourself otherwise my suggestion would be to take it to a shop that is a team Daiwa dealer least then they know what they are doing and can service it for you there eg most of the complete angler stores are not sure if oceanside is or not  Blake or Ryan can awnser that one

I took my 6500 to ocean side. I normally just drop in all my reels before I go back to work or at the start of the ban! Depends wot has to be done. I had to replace near on all bearings in it! But I had been jigging big bass an blue eye from 360/410m

Saltiga 2010

Fri, 2013-02-01 08:53

Hi mate,

For servicing of Saltiga 2010 models feel free to drop it into us and we can arrange for servicing and repairs via Daiwa Australia. Our reel servicer is great and can do just about any reel under the sun but because these reels feature the MagSeal its best to get the manufacturer to do it. A basic service via Daiwa is $50 though dont be surprised if there is a few bearings need replacing if shes grindy.

More than happy to help and we are open 7 days a week.

P.S We send all customers reels via Registered post and insured post if the customer desires so if anything were to go missing it would be covered.

i just got one of my 4500 Daiwa reels back yesterday from Daiwa Australia. They serviced the reel, replace three bearings and some of the drag washers, it took about three weeks from dropping it at the shop and cost only $85. i was very happy with it. a couple of years ago I had to replace one roller bearing in another Daiwa reel and it cost $23 for one bearing, which makes the servicing from them pretty good value. i also gave the boys at the shop an Okuma Salina II which was unusable after getting a work out up at Exmouth. i think the main shaft in the reel was bent, anyway the boys gave that reel to the Okuma rep who in turn sent it off to Okuma in the east and it was returned fixed and cost me nothing. Okuma really stand by their life time warranty.

they send it to Daiwa

your dealer can do it or look on the website as I think you can do it yourself- I have had reels go to Daiwa and they are back in 10 working days with all the replaced bits in a bag for you to have a look at.

all the reels I have sent- and I did have one local shop have a crack at it himself and fuck it up completely only to send it to Daiwa at his expense have come back cherry ripe...

The magseal is what you want to watch out for- this makes the exercise more expensive.

Thanks guys, I thought it would be heaps more expensive due to the mag seal. My Stella costed me around 80 bucks last time from a tackle shop.

Just that when they send a reel away for a service, they always have no idea what it cost them and how long it would take. Last year I had a reel go back to daiwa cos the tackle shop could work out what was wrong with the reel, after 2 months it came back costing me 125 bucks.
