Left over white.

I find the odd white that does not march and stays behind goes pink. Not sure they stay that way. Probably not. Also if they lose a couple of legs they stay behind and go pink. Seen a few come upin the pots like that. Always a couple of legs missing.

that is amazing.

you certainly do well with the occys. do you spear them? how do you stop them form trying to crawl all over you? after seeing some of the pics you have posted, i am definitely considering giving it a crack! love occys, but so far only ones i have caught have either been in my cray pots, or lucky enough to jag when bottom bashing.

Grab head turn upside

Down . Use gaff push in about 1 inch instantly dead. Doing it this way goes straight to brain . They go white . Heads skinned are brilliant bait. Thin white and never goes soft and mushy

Many ways to get them. Best way is gaff ( make your own small )and gidge . If you don’t get good shot and kill them out right( dead centre of eyes) they go white and loose suction. Leave spear in them swim back up poke gaff behind them and pull them out. Another good way get a solid pole with 100 plus pound line on it with a crapy squid jig( min 5 weight) wali in any canal systems and look for signs of occy being in rock or hole ( crab shells empty bottles ect)lower jig few feet away from entrance they bolt out for jig lift them straight up otherwise they suck onto rocks. Don’t even get wet. Never done this myself but I watched a lady do it in mandurah. I was very impressed seen her get 4 in about 15 mins. Pole was about 10 feet long with about 6 feet of line on it.( heavy line) if you don’t like swimming good way to get a feed
