sharkbay/peron report

did a quick 3 dayer up to shark bay with the boys last weekend came back with a freezer full of fish, the pinkies are rampant up there at the moment.

went out with mack attack on the first day and all caught our bag even though the weather was crap. bagged out on pinkies in 6 - 10 metres of ater placcies were dynamite

also got a few mulloway, and a nice golden trev about 12kg on 15 lb line

spent a night up at bottle bay which is just another magic place on the WA coast line (apart from the bloody sand flies which we are all still suffering from) got out in the tinny and bagged out on pinkies again along with some smallish blackies, flag and mulloway, plenty of good ground around the tip of peron if your heading up that way sudden drop offs 6 - 14 metres,

weirdest drifting i have ever experienced one drift we wouldnt move at all the next drift in the same spot we would drift at 3 knots go back again and we would drift in the opposite direction all together.

after returning in the tinny we leanrt one of the old boys had put out a live whiting on the beach and turned his back only to see the rod skipping  across the surface never to be seen again, that provided plenty of ribbing and laughs.

the last morning we caught a bucketfull of yellow fin whiting which are the best eating of all if you ask me

cheers to the caretaker for helping us out with a loaf of bread even if it did cost a couple of pinkie fillets haha.

all in all it was just good to getaway with no kids and wives in tow shame it wasnt longer

sorry about te pics too busy fihsing or drinking most of the time

Booked for August and a huge box of soft plastics courtesy of the owner of Berkley in the US - hopefully might finally break my incessant  duck on sp's and actually catch something.

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.
