I was just reading the department of fisheries fact sheet for sharks , under protected sharks, dated April 2011. and it says bull sharks and tiger sharks are protected, just wondering if this is still the case?.

The only sharks protected in
The only sharks protected in wa under the recreational fishing guide is:
Great white shark
Grey nurse shark
Speartooth shark
Whale shark
Whaler sharks (greater than 700mm between the front of the dorsal fin and the second dorsal fin)
It all so states that whaler sharks are dusky shark, bronze whaler, sandbar shark, bull shark, tiger shark and the spinner shark.

Thats right, tiger sharks are
Thats right, tiger sharks are in the whaler shark "family" or something.
I remember a debate on here a couple of years ago about weather the max size applied to Tigers, I think it was sarcasm0 who first pointed out that it does, with most others (including myself initially) calling bullshit. That discussion ended in a locked thread lol.
Good to see the fisheries book has made it clearer.
To answer your question, yes that is still the case as far as I know.

Fisheries have made it much
Fisheries have made it much clearer but that Max size only applies to the west coast region and south coast but north west it doesn't apply but there is no point taking a 2m shark anyway.
always looking for a new challenge!!

Tiger and bull,
