shed builders

 hey lads and ladetts,

im building a shed in the back yard, 8x4m and curious what anyone has paid for a similar size kit shed to be built.

or has anyone got any tips on a good source to get one built. if i can get a builder at a good price ill happily take that choice over doing it myself.

also got some concrete work if anyones keen to quote up a job. 8x4m and 15x2m roughly

Not sure in Perth Gilly but

Not sure in Perth Gilly but i reckon for a shed that size you'd have it up in no time and save two or three grand.

Most of the kit style sheds are pretty light weight and cheaply built.

I wish i had done things differently with mine.

Are you building gable or skillion? If you haven't considered skillion i wish i did as you can get a higher roller door in!!

If you're going gable the other main gripe with mine ( widespan but i think most are the same ) are the plated trusses. If i was going again i'd perhaps get a bit of a hybrid where i'd source some gear from a shed company but i'd get someone to knock up the trusses and get bolted trusses made.

Piss easy to build then also as you dont have to stand the whole lot up together you put the channel posts up than you can easily ( two blokes with couple of ladders to help ) lift the trusses up upside down and drop a bottom bolt in then you can easily just flip them up the right way and bolt and walla...

 With that width go 75mm

With that width go 75mm  steel wall frames and trusses or portal beams with c or z channel to screw the roof to, nice flat walls and no wasted space because of columns. Easy to line then if you want to go that way.

 I did a 6 x 10 pretty much myself.

Everyone I found wanted too much.

Followed the instructions and it went up ok.

But I was a lot younger and dumber then......

B 'n' L Sheds

Mon, 2019-11-04 11:18

I had a 9x6 built last year, kit was by Action Sheds and was heavier duty than most others I could find.

Shed has a single roller door and PA door.  Kit was $6k and then B 'n' L shed charged $2k to install.  Not cheap but job was perfect, quick and clean.

Having previously built a few big sheds myself, I'd take the option of someone else doing it every day of the week.
