Shimano Australia Service

 Thought i'd share a good news story regarding Shimano service. My 14yo nephew has shown interest / obsession with fishing so i took him to a tackle shop in September and we bought him a Daiwa black gen Wicked Weasel and Stradic 2500, nice first combo! Anyway he managed to accidentally get beach sand in the reel that same week ( felt like a grinder ) so we sent it off to Shimano Oz stating what had happened and a copy of the receipt expecting a service cost of up to at least a hundred bucks minimum. To our surprise the reel was returned in 9 days and we were charged $20 service fee and postage was $14! Bloody amazed at such a low charge and quick return. Hats off to Shimano Oz for great customer service. Anyone else out there had a good experience regarding service / warranty?

 Put a post up about my daiwa monster mesh having a twisted reel seat, blokes at blue water scarborough went out of their way to contact daiwa for me and sort out a brand new replacement rod.

 

Also props to daiwa for admitting a production fault and replacing the rod!

 Good to hear Noxious. We bought the combo from Bluewater Scabs also and they were very helpful, even gave us the box and bubble wrap to send the reel over!
