Simrad NSE8 install.
Just thought I would chuck up a couple of pics of the new electronics package in the bathtub. Simrad NSE 8 running BSM 1 with a transom mount 600w and Structurescan LSS2. One of the guys I know cut the pieces for the box on top of the console from Starboard for me, and I just put it together with alum angle, s/s hinges, hatch seal tape and some canopy stretchy loops to hold the lid down. The lid hinges back so you can remove the electronics and cabling without difficulty. I have another piece of starboard cut that will be fitted with s/s 'pullapart' hinges which will have a latch for locking so if we are out camping then we can lock the electronics within the box and at least keep the honest crooks out.
We also rewired everything through an isolation switch and distributed power from a positive and negative bus bar. I have not quite finished as I need to sort out switches for a couple of devices like lights, bilge pump.
Its been a work in progress over the last few months but we finally took it out for a test run yesterday for a few hours on the swan. No fish caught but a very nice day on the water playing with the new toy/s. I will need to brace the starboard box with some supports off the front and sides of the centre console pedastal as the box did move a bit.
Pic 1 - Simrad NSE8, 4 way screen split Sonar, Chart, Downscan, Structure Scan.
Pic 2 - Simrad NSE8, Console/Box pic
Pic 3 - Simrad NSE8, Fullscreen Structurescan going under Canning Bridge.
Pic 4 - Hydrofoiling Moth on the move - Melville Water sorry for the pic quality, he was going quick and I was trying to zoom
Let me know if you would like to see more pics of the transducer mountings, wiring or more of the starboard box.

The structurescan is Standard LSS2
Same connectors, same black box, same transducer. Lowrance and Simrad are both from the same parent company Navico.

Pretty good
First run learning how to drive the unit and first time playing with S/Scan so the jury is still out. Lots of things I have read and seen, seem exciting - but I think I have a fair idea of its capabilities and limitations so for what I and the bathtub are capable of it should work well. I will keep you posted.

Good to see you choose the
Good to see you choose the Simrad gear!
I am very happy with mine as well.
Structure scan is nice and helpful once you work out how to use it and intergrade it!
