Small whale with a completely blunt dorsal fin

saw two today behind Garden Island .....sorry no photos but both had rounded dorsal fins .....any ideas on what subspecies they might have been

Way too small for a sperm whale
Dark almost black ......only surfaced three times before diving and not seen again

reckon it could have been a minke whale? i have seen a few of these off rotto before. some come up real close, dont seen particulalry shy.

Could be a pilot whale. Minky
Could be a pilot whale. Minky whales have a small dorsal more towards the tail.
