Looking a bit windy tomorrow but the forecast says it will calm down to less than 10 knotts in the arvo. Being neap tides it looks like a good time to head out to some lumps for some north west snapper. Will report tomorrow arvo. good luck to anyone else who is heading out.

Misconception
Emperor Jay, Emperor. :) I get so many people coming into the boat ramps saying, we caught some norwest snapper. Not realising that there are three different size limits and atleast 12 different species that I know of. Gets a bit frustrating when people take blue lined emperor at 28cm thinking that they all norwest snapper, using ignorance as an excuse. I'm trying to get the message out, even though the fisheries ID book says, nor west snapper on it. Grrrr.

Indeed you are correct Adam
Indeed you are correct Adam although I'm not sure that it's a misconception... well, not on my part anyway. I'm sure there are many people who are unaware of the different size limits of common Emperor species though.
Yes there is such thing as nor west snapper Tapout. They're called emperors (lethrinus) like Adams already pointed out. North West Snapper is just like a slang term for them.
