Something interesting going on in the deep water off rotto

Well maybe not but to be out in 4.5 swell all night zig zaging a really deep part off the back of Rotto by a military ship makes you wonder what they are looking for...tin foil hat on lol.

Why couldnt they do it during the day light in better conditions ;)

Here is the website......

http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/default.aspx?level0=100# Here is the screen prints.... Current postition... Where its been all night... Zoomed in on the zig zagging... wonder whats there?

Im sure they do. I do know they do war games during the day aswell but i doubt a military tig type thing would be doing it. Looks like its scanning the bottom for something. Anyone know how deep it is out there?

 That wasn't the first time

Wed, 2013-09-11 09:09

That wasn't the first time they went out in rough seas... saw them when i was at north mole for snapper.... 4 rubber duckys loaded with personel circling around that blue boat if not mistaken escorting it to rous head where the rotto ferry launches. swell easily 3.5m-4m 30-40km northerlies must be something important.

What ever you do don't push that red button. Opps too late!!

Looks like they went a bit further out, pinged someone, then moved in and did a few drifts when the other boat moved off the spot :-)

Sat, 2013-09-14 17:37

I have read about people in the UK calling the police saying there are people out in boats during massive storms. It turned out to be the SBS Special Boat Service (the water SAS) training in these storms. Surprised so much information for a military craft. Be thankful were cosy in bed and its someones job to be out there in those conditions.

Hmmm, from memory it was only just slightly NE of the north end of that run where I found THIS : http://fishwrecked.com/forum/whats-1

Never found out who's it was and Fisheries etc confirmed it wasn't theirs.

if it WAS for submarine torpedo recovery I'm bloody glad i didn't pull the rest of it up !!!
