Rod bucket
Get a rod bucket so it supports the weight of the rod and reel taking the strain off your lower back. The lower the pouch of the rod bucket is the less strain you are going to feel and holding the rod more vertical will help as well.
Every so often find a dry spot and have a little sit down with the rod planted in the sand between your knees.

I can't stand for to long
so when I LB fishing I cast out and sit in a portable chair, my knees and back are stuffed, can't fish off rocks anymore. In the boat I just sit in my chair then if I get a fish I'll stand up to winch it in. It is age too much heavy lifting when you are young and stupid,

you probably need a
you probably need a physiotherapist to give you exercises to do with your low back, leg and possibly your belly muscles. it would be to control your posture and endurance when fishing.
the exercises should be focused on endurance and light loads only to the weight of the rod you are carrying.

Thanks for the info
gumbyconts but need two new knees, possibly a new left hip and lower back (having three kids all 9kg each didn't help my back) , right shoulder, is all to do with osto arthritis, unfortunately hereitary, live on pain killers (prescription) to do every day chores, thank goodness all scripts are compatable with kwells and ginger tablets hahhahah Low impact excercises for me is up to my neck in a pool for excercises or apparently a excercise bike the doctor said to get, no stress on the joints.
ps....also need to lose weight, which I'm doing to get new (L) knee 15kgs to go, bugger Xmas is coming up hahahah
