I have the dragonfly 6. Discontinued model, but a great little unit in the dinghy. Plug and play, haven't moved it off the auto settings, don't need to. Check Whitworths for a price, they're about the best going around.

I've got a 4.2 tinny and have an older model dragonfly 7. I fish up to 50m and its been a really good unit. The display screen is very clear under full sun which is an essential in an open tinny. It's very easy to place waypoints once you have marked fish or good ground. Manipulating settings is easy although it performs very well out of the box. The toggle can be painful at times but it looks like they have got rid of that feature and reverted to push buttons on the new units. One thing i have found bizarre is manually entering in gps coordinates. It is a fairly cumbersome process requiring you to first mark a spot in the navigation page (which can be anywhere), create a waypoint, then edit that waypoint which then and only then allows you to enter your gps coordinates. I would have thought you could just hit a button and enter the coordinates. I did some hunting around their tech support forum and there was no easier way to do this (although that was a year ago and may have changed).

Yeah, I took mine out of the boat, brought it inside with a 12 volt transformer, grabbed a few beers and sat on the couch and entered a dozen and a half that I had, cumbersome process, but once I was on a role, it wasn't too bad.

I had a dragonfly 7 and they have a design fault, The pins break because there is no direct line up with the plug. Red plug
I took it to the local dealer who said can not be fixed.
Contacted Raymarine direct and they replaced it with a new transducer included for $449 Dragonfly 7 Pro Green Plug
Unit works extremely well for the price

Yep, the green plugs a must. I liked the locking feature also, I bought some lock barrels off fleabay and now mines locked in its cradle.
