Sounder for Jetski

hey guys,
I Want to start setting up my jetski for fishing, and a sounder is one of the things i want to rig up. I know absolutely nothing about them! On the ski im limited to venture out 5NM. Is there a reader/sonar device thing that goes on the bottom of your boat? i ride my ski up on to the sand quite often, will this be a problem? The last thing i want to be doing is screwing holes into the ski for a bracket mount, does anybody have any ideas on how to attatch it to the ski without drilling holes into it? maybe some sought of clamp off the handle bars?

Engine compartment
Hey Beau
What about in the engine compartment .........you could construct a wet box inside the engine compartment .
I'm not sure how much heat is in there ,if it gets too hot you may need to insulate the wetbox and transducer cable a bit.
This way there is nothing to get damaged and given the 5nm limit you shouldn't need to sound in very deep water.

you could use
sikaflex to join the transducer o the back
sufaflex is a super super strong marine adhesive similar to silastic, wont do any damage to anyting, lots of people just patch up holes with it becasue its very strong
u can get it from bunning for around 20bucks a tube

jet ski sounder
I would mount a transom skimmer transducer by Lowrance as its nice and small and works at high speed. No one likes drilling holes but 2 small ones on the transom filled with sika to seal it works well. And as for the display mount it on the dash or RAM make mounts to clamp to your rail which you fit your sounder too. check em out on www.ram-mount.com and check em out.
