sounder selection

 hey guys

i am a bit of a novice with sounders so i need help from some of the experts :)

i am looking into buying an upgrade and need some help selecting one

my budget is $300 to $400

i dont want one with an in built GPS cause have alredy have got a hand held one

also will i need to upgrade the transducer that i have already got

any help will be much apreciated

You will need to spend a little more then 300 to 400 to upgrade I would have thought mate. Try the search button here , there is a lot of recent info on sounders. Once you start to get in the $800 mark you will get into much better gear

Have a look at "whitworths marine" pretty sure i saw

 clearance specials or super specials on sounders might be one on your budget available

edit - had a look at theiir site - the LOWRANCE elite 5x HDI colour screen with 50/200kHz + 455/800kHz for $399 (usually $599) might be as good as you can get for your budget cheers dave
