South Mole Tailor

Got this from another site, but thought the fishwrecked crew might be interested!

October 25th:
South Mole

"The Tailor are back in full swing... Started on the bite just after sunset and went for around 40 minutes.. The first run was only small choppers 30cm and under.. Landed about 10, kept 3.. A second run though happened around 8.30pm though with bigger fish.. Ended with 13 in the bucket between 3 of us.. Best was 37cm, average round 33cm.."

Cheers,
Adam

Not for a while Jangles. The north has too much going for it. You'll see when I get into the sailfish in the next couple of weeks. :D Sorta beats fishing for tailor.

Anything between 7-9knts is pretty good. I like varied speed and turning rather than straight lines. You had any luck with the billies over that way so far? Would love to get into some of those granders you get!

yeh we'd like to get into them to, it's very possible couple of the locals have got into them. This is our first try with the pushers. So we'll see how we go, this is the right time of year to get them.

Cheers Scottie

At certain north coast spots, reports have come in 65+cm for tailor after sundown....

Largest reported was 85cm last week.

Andy, trolling speed will also vary on type of pusher, i run them until they look right ie plenty of breathing (poping up very periodical) and so they dont look lazy ie slugish in the water. Speed is right as mentioned but more importantly run them so they look alive!

I agree with Adam (Exmouth boy) re no straight lines, for me it's a slow zig zag and the lures end up going in and out of clean and champagne (white wash )water.

Back to tailor, ruff water after this blow will bring a few bigger ones about.
