Sambo Jiggers - Just FYI

In the interests of saving a few sambos!

All I can say is dont bother going to the hillarys aggs - they are completely shark infested. It is an exercise in killing big spawning fish there at the moment. And probably will be all season I'd imagine.

Stick to Rotto.

Thanks for that Jamie.
Definately something those heading out after Sambos should be aware and take notice of.
No point to it if your just feeding the sharks.

Yes the North barge/wreck has always been a haven for massive bronzies (in general) especially over the last few years and often my pink snapper, mulloway and or sambo would get chomped!

There's an angler that berley's them up heavly at that spot ie targets sharks sooooo.......yeh need i say anymore (no names)

long way

Its like the Rottnest containers but way further north, hence Hillaries containers. The co-ords are a lot more closely guarded as well, which is a good thing. The Rotto containers are heaps better anyway, as you can bottom fish too if you like. (good before the sambo's show up anyway)

Cheers for giving the boys the heads up on the shark situation Jamie.

Rotto

Fri, 2007-10-26 09:19

Den, its what Adam said but a descent size wreck, out from Hillarys (NW of Rotto) and not too many other spots to go to in that general area ie jigging. This spot was kept quiet for a while but the sambo jigging charters hit it hard and then every rec boat followed/marked the spot......gets hit hard now.

Agree with Adam re Westend being better, for me it's not because of the bottom smashin but more wrecks and containers!
