Southwind

Sounds like there are a few Southwind fans on here. We have searched far and wide for the molds for these epic boats but they seem to have fallen off the end of the earth. We have designed and built the boat below.. Quality has been the primary concern in having boats built offshore but after several visits we finally have ourselves Australian engineering compliant Southwind-esque vessel in Australia.

Like the southwind they rely on a longboat syle, delta pad design. They are just shy of 7m long, 2.15m wide and we did on water testing with an 85hp two stroke. Got a comfortable 28knts at WOT. They are engineered to handle a 115hp so thats what will be going on this one. Ride well and very economical.

Would love to hear your thoughts...

Great stuff, I realy like how those long boats handle even if the can be wet some times. You need to bolt on a 2012 Yam 115 for stroke on it, smooth, quiet, good on fuel and with bucket loads of torque it will leave any 2 stroke for dead.

Cannot wait to see how it looks and handles when done! Chuck some gun racks down each side and I could see some epic long range dive trips happening! Keep us posted mate

Super keen

Are these in WA?

What weight is a bare hull?

Southwind was a Yamaha company and they took the moulds back and refuse to let them be built by anyone.
