Spearo catch n release

Spent the weekend in the mid west freediving. Plenty of fish around in the 15-22m mark.

We got a couple of dhue's in the bag and then took the opportunity to do a little catch and release spearo style - shooting with the camera instead of the gun :)

Alway interesting  to  look at the sort of country the dhu's hang out in and how they move around lumps/caves.

Spot the dhu...

Hanging with the crays

This guy wasnt quite so lucky

Was realy wondering how a Spearo could C&R

Thu, 2013-02-07 11:11

Had me perplexed. GoPro or camera mounted on a gun, pointing at the target and bang, photo!

Those pics are great and I agree with Faulkner's, b4 I got the dreaded GWS Heebie Geebies (one chased me on a windsurfer!) and scuba dived all over Perth often spotted Dhue's on very small lumps. Usually a big fish, and not in schools but alone. Perhaps they at that size get the attitude "this is my Rock, bugger off"

Great shots and where's my Cray??
