Species List NOR v SOR comp
Species Pts per Kg
Dhufish 25pts
Pinkie 55pts
Sand Whiting 1000pts
KG 200pts
Black Arse 250pts
Harlequin 250pts
Queenie 75pts
Red Snapper 500pts
Skippy 100pts
Leatherjacket 125pts
Flathead 175pts
Tuna Blue / Bonito 50pts
YF Tuna 15pts
Spanish Mac 25pts
Baldchin 100pts
Points based on the upper limit of a great catch for each species being worth around 500pts. For example a 20kg Dhuie would be worth 500pts and thats a great size for that species but equally a 9kg Pinkie would be classed as a great catch for that species and accordingly score around 500pts.
Champion boat will be total points for the boat divided by the number of anglers on board.
You only count your heaviest fish of each species in each fisherman's tally. So if you catch 2 Dhuies one of 5kg and one of 10kg you only count the heaviest fish. Obviously all catches must comply with bag and size limits or will be disqualified.
Tim has a copy of the spreadsheet and I will get a copy to each of the Northern crews. Also I will see if Adam can load up the sheet to the site so you can download before the comp.
Cheers

Bonus points Tapout
Anyone filmed catching a fish using a double flex rod might receive bonus points. (Hehehe)
Calling a fish for a ray and it ending up being a Dhufish will also potentially count for bonus points (Hehehe- only kidding)

Maybe we make it Swallowtail/Nanygai at 500pts/k
And add the Reds back in at 125pts per kilo.
You would have to fish pretty deep to get a 3 or 4kg Red.

Prize
Maybe make the best fish from off the list a prize as well, voted by the majority of entrants.

No real upper limit
Its just a guage for how big a "prize capture" is of each species. So if you get a 21kg Dhufish its worth 21 x 25pts = 525pts. If you get a 5kilo Queenie its 5 x 75 = 375pts. A 10kilo queenie is worth 750pts.

I've been trialling some new baits
Full of lead based steroids, hopefully I can get a few plump whiting to engulf a few and break the kilo barrier (hehehe)
Seriously the way we have it structured is to give everyone a chance at a prize and at winning the comp overall.
Even if you decide not to weigh anything in you may still score something. I'll go out on a limb here and say that anyone who catches a Dhuie over 10kgs and releases it on film (movie) using a release weight so we can post it on the site could possibly score a pretty good prize too. I'll check with the prize donators and see if "best photo" can become "best photo / movie" from the day. If it does then there is $100 potentially up for grabs.
Cheers

I like that prize Andy, nice one ( insert the smiley here)
As for the YFT or Mackie, i reckon these should be a lot more. hell there hard to catch in the Metro, and you really have to target them to score, so you should be rewarded for the efforts, Jewies Pinkies baldies KG's aren't that hard.
Just a suggestion, not trying to upset anyone ( insert another smiley here)
