Speeding Fine
Sorry, fellas, not fishing related, but there does seem to be a reasonable wealth of knowledge on here about all things great and small, so here goes:
My missus copped a multanova infringement in the post the other day...actually it was one of those rear-facing cameras...and the photos showed a motorbike/rider in the lane next to her car. The number plates of both vehicles were clearly visible. So how do we, or the cops, know which one was speeding? Do these cameras actually have the capability to define which person was doing the wrong thing or do they merely send notices out to all parties involved, and hope to get two for the price of one? I also realise that we cannot rule out the possibility that BOTH were speeding, but again, how would anybody know?
I figure there's no point in ringing the cops 'cause they'll just say that they DO have the technology to differentiate between vehicles and to just shut up and pay the fine. I'd rather look up info regarding the actual capabilities of the machine itself...an independent study, I suppose.

but if i was you i would look into it closely! ive heard of a few people in the same position who have taken it to court and won

the law is a big ass we are only sheep to the law .mate i feel sorry for you . you just cant win i copped 2 years and 3000 dollar fine for refusing the breath test 4 months ago .how do think i feel .i know i should have blown in the bag but i wasnt pissed i was just standing up for my rights wich weve got none i believe so to speak im just having my winge about the matter again i feel sorry for you,,thats just my view so many innocent people cop this every day .it makes you wonder why people not all.do hate the cops there just doing there job right yeah heard it all before ,but they should realise they are putting them selves in a position of hatred and and anger from public ,so why dont the public do something about it ....answer ? because most oif them are sheep with no guts . the law is affecting so many things atm thats its becoming a joke ..yes we need laws but fair go mate ..just on another subject but i wont get into it the crayfisherman of this country are been screwed by a big knob in parliment that hasnt a clue on what the fu cks going on ...wankers the lot of them.. .just my 20 cents worth

My understanding is if you refuse to blow and are charged with that, the penalties are equivilent to the highest drink driving charge. How is it you blame someone else for your decisions

im sure adam gallash understands the feelings of people so why the hell should it be taken off ..people should be allowed to express there views on just about any subject . just because it dont suit people in higher places dose not mean it should be taken off ...the truth is the truth its about time it was heard . but that another matter im with the poor bastards that cop this sort of crap every day by the law and believe me im sure theres plenty out there that have been fed unfair justice ..sorry adam about me going on about this matter i know its a fish site im just backing my fellow man in this country ..its about time people stood up for there god given rights wich seem to be taken off us every day in manys ways ps im not a sheep like alot of people in this country ...ps adam no disrespect to ur site .

the new cameras have the ability to accurately detect each and every speeding individual, on an 8 lane wide road. so they can essentially take a snap shot of 8 cars in a traveling line side by side, and tell you exactly which one or ones are speeding, and by how much.
thats with the new cameras though. they are still using the old ones as well, and they are only accurate with a single vehical in the sub-frame of the photo.
which cametra took your missus's photo, i dont know. but if you can find that out, you might be in with a fighting chance.
p.s. Dom7777, you got what you deserved mate. if you werent pissed, you should have blown. from what you have said, the cops were doing exactly what they are being paid to do.

Dom77777 mate, where do we start? Are you telling us the full story buddy? Do you have any prior drink driving offences? I'm all for standing up for your rights, but ive had mates who have refused to blow in the bag as they were that shitfaced and they've only copped a 3 month suspension and a $750-1000 dolar fine depending how the judge is on the day.
Now for you to have copped such a huge suspension I'm thinking youve either had prior drink driving convictions or you've stood in front of the judge and called him a c&%t and ranted on about being a sheep and hes thrown the book at you. In my opinion you got what you deserved.

Whats the worst that can happen?? they tell you it is was your missus speeding?? so you pay anyway.
From my experience when this happens they actually tear up the fine.
Ive been side by side with another car going past a speed camera a couple times recently, and none of them have flashed (and at that point i was probably speeding).
Because it was a bike next to your missus the camera may not have detected it, only sensing the car.
Worth the question if you ask me!

I'm just waiting to see if I get a speeding ticket (first in 25yrs) I was doing the same two cars heading north on North Lake Rd., can't remember if I saw a flash or not.
From what I've been told, they do have the radar units that can take two cars speeding, but don't know if this camera I went past was the newer of the cameras.
I have rung up the Police department and got through to the speeding camera section, as my eldest son drove my car, got pinged, we couldn't work out who was driving , hence I got in contact with the section concerned, sure enough the policeman said, its a handsome young man with sun glasses on. Gotcha Tony hahahaah so he had to pay the fine, just glad I didn't lose any demerit points.

Arguing for the sake of it perhaps? Its simple, if you had blown in the bag and you were sober, you would've been outta there. If you were pissed you would have copped it, but because you chose to argue it and not co-operate and abide by the law you were charged anyway. Where is the sense in that? what did it achieve other than you losing your license ?
Tell us, how would you like the coppers to detect drink drivers ? driving isn't a constitutional right so good luck with your recruitment drive...............

muppett i was just stating the facts about the law its an ass stubborn as fk . one sided not overly fair and so on no need to get personel about things i believe in my rights like many thousands of us we need to make a stand before it gets real bad . its not the police im blaming its the higher ranks behind them telling them to enforce the law .im sure there are plenty of law men that dont like what they enforce but they need to live pay the rent ect ect they are merley doing what there told ...brings me back to the sheep bit ..cheers for opinion but it needs to be dropped as adam will not apreciate all this bitching .i might be wrong but its my opinion

They actually tell you before hand if you refuse to give a breath sample you will be charged and it is the same penalty as a high range drink driving charge....no excuse you reap what you sow!
