 Honestly after many hours

Honestly after many hours messing around trying to get it just right I went online and purchased a cheap as hell system that works brilliantly (think I paid 75 for the motor AND the stainless bar)

Worked well for me.

Easily capable of a whole pig/lamb/roo. Along with some setup tips and recipes if you are interested.

This one is two washing machine motors with gearing reductions, maybe you can have a look at it for ideas?

PM me if interested.

Windscreen wiper motors are just fine, and is what we have on our spit.

Had me worried for a second razorback, I thought this was gonna be a photo from scotto's bucks night!

Haven't made a spit before, but keen to get a tandoori oven happening myself.

e bay

E bay has good spit motors for sale. The spit that I have was custom made in melbourne and is full stainless steel. It came with the same style motor as what they sell on ebay. They can turn up to 40 kg's so whole lamb or pig is no problem at all. they got for about $150.

you can use wiper motors and cogs ect. But to be honest by the time you have got all of the pices together it can often work out cheaper just to purchase a new 240v one outright.

best of luck witht the build and maybe post some pics when you are finished
