FERRET Tyre Deflators... Bang for the Buck

Went down the beach today for a fish and tested out my new FERRET tyre defaltor... AWESOME!! definitely worth the 30 bucks i paid for them off ebay. Dropped the tyre pressure down 10 PSI in about 15 seconds, easy to use and they work! Reccomend them to any one out there.

I tried to explain it but it made no sense at all haha check out this link http://www.ferretdeflators.com/information.html

They cannot be set to a specific pressure but it worked out to be about 1 PSI every 2 seconds which is pretty bloody quick i thought. They are also made in W.A so its supporting a local business as well.

They have got one pretty happy customer here any way!!

My routine is to stop. Open a beer. Let the dog out to do his business, attach the pre-set Stauns and relax for a few minutes before proceeding with confidence that I have even pressure. They cost a bit more but IMO it's well worth it.

and it would be interesting to hear what those ebay cheapies are made of and how long they last. I doubt they would be made of the same quality materials as the Stauns. I've had mine for 6yrs ($70) and they've been well used and still look like new. I've been very impressed with them and wouldn't recommend anything else.

I checked them out

Mon, 2011-05-16 19:59

I checked them and other imitations on e-bay. Was intresting to read the feed back from buyers.

Some said they were ok altho you get what you pay for.

There was a lot of negative feedback too. Claims they were useless and failed straight out of the pack.

I think i would just pay the bit extra and have a set that lasts more than once .

PS . Sorry , the ones i looked at were not the Ferret brand.

70 bucks 6 years ago would be about right.... now they are between 80-100 depending on where you get your price..... these other ones are made in the same factory as stauns... so yes will be very interesting to see how long they last..... and at 30 bucks its cheap

I got a set of those cheap ones off ebay, wasn't actually after them but they came free with a snatch strap that I needed.

Didnt expect much from a freebie and didnt get much either.

They don't work to the presets so stear clear.

The old get what you pay for applies here IMO.

Sun, 2011-05-15 14:42

the ferret tyre defelator is great in my opinion.i like the fact that you can go as soft as you want with them unlike the stauns which are preset so its a little more work to let your tyres a bit lower but i guess its each to there own. and being made in wa is even better and the bloke that makes them is a champ ive been in his workshop top bloke.

cheers

Got both

Tue, 2011-05-17 22:47

Stauns and a Ferret deflator. Stauns can be reset so have 2 at 18 psi and 2 at 12.... As Uncut says "time for some refreshments and the dog to do his business".

Use the Ferret when have to go lower than 12 when required and has saved a few valve stems going bush

Love them both but if Rod could get the FERRET to be able to be preset/adjustable his blood would be worth bottling!!!
