Splicing 10 pin Furuno to 7 pin Simrad

Hi all,
I was chasing some info on splicing tm185 10 pin furuno transducer to a 7 pin Simrad adapter.
Is this doable and is it as easy as just soldering the same colour wires together.
I can't seem to find a 10 pin adapter that runs to a 7 pin simrad/ lowrance on the internet.
Cheers

errr,,,,, NO!
All transducers ARE NOT created equal!! Wire colours are whatever the manufacturer had at the time... and usually have no correlation between different manufacturers. Ther sometimes do in similar models from the same maker.
A lot of 'OEM' transducers are actually made by AIRMAR.
If you are lucky you will find your 2 moodels here https://www.airmar.com/xref.html and they will have wiring diagrams. They usually also show the operating frequencies and a lot of other info.
Good Luck!

You can get basically like a junction box for the transducer to the head unit. It is basically a small circuit board with screw type wire termination points. I've wired one on a mates boat once. Like mentioned above you just need to do plenty of googling to make sure you know what colour wire does what, according to your model of transducer and head unit

This might help

In addition, you should be able to purchase a pigtail, and Airmar (if its an airmar transducer) supplies diagrams on their website. Or call CH Smith, they seem to know a lot.
