yeah blackens the sounder alot, i notice that with my mako's too matt, funny enough my preference(is mako's) but used to have spotters as well, top glasses
i got my mako's photocromatic for just over $100 from somewhere in the city, if you shop around you can get a good deal, but very highly recommend glass lenses thats for sure, handle more punishment via salt
Got a top pair of spotters and Makos in the PHotochromatic glass as I have some pretty bad sun damage in my left eye. Got the missus a pair of Maui's before going north and I must say they are noticeably better than either of mine. APparently they are the only ones that polarise both sides of the glass, clarity was amazing and they do have a much better range of frames. Whatever you get make sure you choose function over fashion if they are going to be purely fishing glasses. They are there to protect your eyes, so any sun that gets in around the bottom or sides sort of defeats thepurpose.
Had the same sounder/GPS screen problem with any sunnies I've used - is that a common problem? I thought it was because the sunnies weren't top of the range - or is it because their polorised?

I think it's the polarised feature that causes the problems with viewing the sounder, Dreamy. When wearing my Spotters I also have trouble reading my phone's screen.
Probably a good time of the year to remind people that you can claim sunglasses purchases on your tax, for any type of outdoor industry. Apparently the government finds it cheaper than having lots of workers suffering eye damage down the track...
good advice there re tax oz, yeah i also hate the sunglasses on the phone, and also the gps in the car, always having to look over the top of the glasses to look at things but hey better than sore eyes
Have 2 pairs of the photothingo spotters......great glasses. 1 for fishing and 1 knock about pair for around the farm. I have trouble viewing some screens with them but find that they are good for viewing monitor screens in the tractor. Take the glare of the screen. View the screeen at an angle and you should be ok.
Got a pair of Ultrasol Tremors from Smithy at Abernathy Owen in Freo. Best driving glasses I have ever used

If you want a cheap pair try the harbour town, second level, right on the bend. They have a few going out cheap usually.

Good advice Simon - Sunnies and Sounders?

They are great in low light situations.
