Squid Tentacles

So who here eats the squid tentacles?
Recently i've taken some mates out to get a feed but when it came time to clean them they either wanted to keep the tentacles for bait or throw them away
If you coat and fry them up I reckon they can be tastier than the rings

But as a whole or half head flaming top bait was well - torn between two as to which way to go............perhaps a compromise, as the candles in particular make superb bait cut them off and keep for bait and eat the rest crispy flash fried with a chilly salt coating

I've always eaten them, dont notice a huge difference between them and the body when cut the same size.

They are great
They are great to eat but rarely make it home, straight onto to KG rigs on my boat. Nothing beats fresh baits for big King George and other tasty demersals.

If you ever go to Emmas kitchen in East vic park order their squid tentacles. I'd go there just for them they are off the planet.

Just had a big feed of fresh squid, the tentacles are definately the best bit! Just had to teach the missus not to get freaked out by the suckers

Tentacles are the best bait by far, tough, easy to hook up, and leave a little to dangle.
Cooked tentacles are sensational, and way better IMO then the body whether ringed, curled etc.
BUT - fresh squid nowadays is straight on the best Sashimi I have ever tasted. Cut into very thin rings, dipped in quality soy and a dash of wasabi to taste, and melt in your mouth. Yummo. The tentacles arent as nice for this.
