Hi I have a stacer nomad 420 and it has a tiller steer at the moment, and I'm converting it to a side console with another motor I just bought witch has front steer, and the lengh of cable is long, i would like to know does it mater if the steering cable is longer and can I roll it up, or do I have to buy a shorter cable. Thanks

Cut
Just cut off the excess once you have run the cables and got it all set up if it is dual cable or if its a single cable you can coil it up but make the coils as big as possible.

cheap enough to buy a new
cheap enough to buy a new one to length from BLA and the likes, they recommend trying to keep steering cable as short as possible with only the minimal amount of bends. this is also the case with your throttle cable and gear cable. the radius of the bends on the cable can't be too tight or your steering will be very hard. I did the same with my build and have got two bends from the wheel to the motor. to say that the steering is light is an understatement, can turn the motor with 1 finger. can't really cut down single spiral cable unless you have all the crimping gear etc but to be honest much cheaper to get a new one, plus need to make sure your hub (for want of a better turn) the gears behind the steering wheel, accepts quick connect fittings and has the right drive. Teleflex do complete kits for around the $300.00 mark, just look up the BLA website. Good luck with the conversion.
to fish or not to fish...as if there was an option.
