Stolen Stella Combo from Coral Bay!!

 Gday crew,

I've just got back from an awesome 3 weeks at Coral Bay.  I'll write a full report when I get all the photos back from all involved.

On the downside, I had a Stella 5000SW matched up to a Taiyro Nanospeed 10-12kg Combo stolen from the under gunwhale rod racks in the boat a week or so ago.  It was a sweet setup.  It had a 40mm Jigging Master knob on it in Gold and yellow PE 3 braid. The boat was a Boston Whaler 210 Outrage.

I've been going there for years and had no problems leaving gear in the boat, not anymore!!   If anyone sees this combo for sale on other forums or on Gumtree etc please let me know.  The low life must of known what to look for because you would have to get into the boat to see it.  I have reported it to the Resort management and Exmouth Police.

I had landed a 2m+ Sailfish on Jig with this combo days before, which was quite memorable, (I'll get some pics up soon) so it has sentimental value for that.

thanks all

Jared

sorry to hear about the theft, just a suggestion ring the cash converter outlets and give them a heads up yes I know they shouldn't get caught with that type of gear but some one just might come in trying to flog it

Yeah good idea, but dont tell them your looking for a stolen rod and reel, pretend u want to buy one. A few years back i had my CD player stolen from my car, i went in to cashies and pretended i was looking to buy a certain type of CD player and sure enough they had mine, they bought it off some one that day, but it took me 3 month to get it back and the cops ended up arresting the person who sold it to cashies.

Hock shops couldnt give a rats, its their bread and butter to buy off drug f++ked thieves and other desperados.

Rumour had it that the large hock shop chains have a truck crossing the Nullabor swapping gear to avoid the possibility of owners spotting it.

just chased it up through my insurance company and sadly I'm not covered...

So I'm feeling pretty gutted at the moment.

For all those tackle junkies out there like me, it pays to have your gear listed on your insurance policy and lock up your stuff every.

We are camped up in the reserve itself near the boat ramp, awesome spot , have you launched here before as it is a bit tough with the swell we have at the moment . The was a 6m alloy boat here the other day and they said they got some nice fish about 9 miles straight out. They were towing the boat in every day from pardoo roadhouse.

Expensive Hobby

Fri, 2012-05-18 18:00

Fark  It costs enough for us to enjoy our hobby then some crackhead comes along and takes your prized rod and reel . Seriously thats not a cheap outfit . Very low , what sucks is that the police have there hands tied . They catch them the courts let them go with a slap on the wrist. Things have to change or its back to the good ol'days , catch em and give them a flogging .  You have to go to the xtremes of empting your boat each night then refit in the morning, as if we dont have enough to do in the mornings to get ready.

Makes me mad .

Tough luck mate that really sucks. We just got back from exxy and we were taking everything off the boat every night-including sounder-then piling it all back in next morning painful but not as bad as the alternative-but i don't need to tell you that

Its sad how something as simple as fishing you have to take full awearness of theives these days, not to long ago at port coogee me and 2 others were held up by afew older guys and 5 combos were stolen. found out 2 weeks later at the same spot another group of kids were robbed aswell.over all 700buks worth of gear, phones and cash was stolen from us. when we drove around to see if we could find them we found the rods and reels on the side of the road, the rods snapped and the spools of the reels missing.

Find out what your Insurance

Wed, 2012-05-23 01:55

Find out what your Insurance Co calls stuff ..

I had 4 game rods and reels and a tackle box full of goodies stolen from

my locked shed ..Police report etc

Insurance Co called the gear "Sporting Equipment " and had a $1000 ceiling on claims.

$1000 only replaced one of the rods and a reel ...
