Transducers
How were they held into the brackets? Hard to tell from the pics.
Trying to understand how much time they put into taking them.
Mine was taken from a TM pro bracket.
People should also be aware that they are also targeting 1kw transducers as they are still worth reasonable money

Hi Tim they obviously came
Hi Tim
they obviously came prepared the top bracket holding the transducers in place were help in with hex head screws and nylock nuts so they had Alan keys and spammers on hand . Lucky for me the 1150 head unit wasn’t in the boat as that is hard wired and I have been rewiring the boat and had it out

This is exactly what they
This is exactly what they did to my boat at a yard in O’Connor!! But they got the 295 and my old 585 as well.. apparently they can’t use the transducers without going to a Furuno tech to re wire the transducers. What pissed me off the most was the cops wouldn’t even go get fingerprints to have in record they would of been all over the dash as they took the whole bracket and everything out even decided my Ariel off my gps was worth taking as well

Check Cash Converters or Gumtree
Check with the nearest Cash Converters or on Gumtree. My 4WD got broken into a while back and all the electronics were stolen from it - CB Radio etc. Cops found all my stolen gear as well as thousands of dollars worth of other stolen goods at the nearest Cash Converter store less than 2kms away. Good thing was that this idiot had to present his driver's license to be able to sell the goods to Cash Converters so he got busted as well.

Sucks bigtime
That's f###ed mate. Just around the corner from me. Nothing worries me more than leaving my boat out the front especially with dash mounted gear. Hopefully you find the bastard(s) who did it. I'll keep my ears to the ground as i am currently looking for 585 and transducer.

A mate in Silver Sands
had his 1kw snipped off his boat out the front. F#€<en dogs. As has been said before, it makes it worse that it's another fisho that's been the prick to do it.

I’m going to use security
I’m going to use security screws on the top brackets this time . At the end of the day if they want they will get them all you can do is make it as hard as possible.

Weld
My plan was to put a small weld on the screws so it would need an angle grinder to get the cover off.
If I need to take it off for some reason no big deal but stops that sneaky theft during the night

Sorry to hear about your loss
I'd like to think that it is some space cadet meth user but,
with the type of expensive gear that is being stolen I have a gut feeling that it is unfortunately scum bag fishos stealing to get gear that they can't afford to buy and so they are targeting people who have what they want.
The only bit of advice that comes to mind is when you recover your boat have an eye open to see if some one is taking more than a casual look at your boat and keep an eye on the rear vision to check if the same car keeps on your tail all the way home. Also engrave your drivers licence number some were prominent on the sounder so that it is clearly visible when you run your over the transducer, just my thoughts trying to help
