stradic vs saragosa

hi guys,
wanting to buy a spinning reel for 20lb braid, using for light bottom bashing and soft plastics. my budget is around $250
at the moment i am tossing up between the stradic fj 5000, or the saragosa 5000.
was just seeing what others opinions were on the subject or if there are any other reels that would suit?

I would reccomend the stradic ci4 4000 for 15-20 but more of a soft plastic reel as quite a small package. I knocked over a 20kg sambo on mine on the weekend with 15pound line

The Stradic ci4's are nice. The daiwa freams are also a really good bang for buck reel.
Mine is matched to a tournament master s rod and it is one of the smoothest combo's in its price range you will find.

I have the 5000FJ, and its a great size. Gosas are way too heavy haha. I run 20lb on mine, and its perfect. got just under 300m with backing on it!

ive had a play with the sustains too, and they are really nice. its just such a hard decision with so many quality reels on the market

Agree, Saragosa 5000 is too big and heavy, I'd go a 4000 stradic or if you can strech to a sustain the new ones are very nice!

Stradic FJ
Go the Stradic FJ. It's got the new X Ship setup too which not only makes it a smoother reel, but a stronger reel too! Pretty sure the 4000 and 5000 size are the same sized body just a deeper spool on the 5000. You'll get close to 300m of 20lb braid on the 5000, but if you're wanting something to suit a smaller outfit the 3000 is just as capable for light bottom bashing.

5000 Gosa is a much bigger reel than a 4000 Stradic, i'd go the Stradic Ci4 4000 if the budget allows.

Also got a 5000 FJ. Beautiful piece of gear. Light, fast, strong. Biggest I've caught on it is a 12kg longtail and it didn't feel like I hurt it at all.

Both have positives and negatives. they both have very similar drag and close to line capacities.
I have owned and jigged with a Gosa 5000 and thought the world of it. ( I only sold when i upgraded to a Saltiga 4000h). yes the gosa is heavier but it is made as a solid saltwater reel, with stronger internals made to with stand jigging. It also has a lower retrieve ratio than the FJStradic. So it it was solely for jigging this would be my option.
The stradic is a much lighter reel (280 grams lighter) but it is still made to withstand 11kgsof drag so it will knock off the same fish as the gosa.
The reel you choose will come down to your rod. The key to a perfect combo is balance, take the rod to a store and test both reels on your rod. see what works for you.

what do you guys recon about
what do you guys recon about using the fj 5000 off something like the busso jetty for tailor and maybe mullas if i get lucky or the rocks down south for salmon? load it with 20 or 30lb braid and what rod would be best?
