STRESS!!

G'day everyone,
I have a question in regards to the lowrance HDS 10 gen 1. I've just arrived at Exmouth for my annual fishing trip and decided to head out this arvo in pretty average conditions at Tantabbidi. When I turned on my lowrance HDS 10 I noticed the sonar page was blank. No matter what I tried nothing seemed to fix it. It's as though the sounder isn't reading anything from the transducer.
Can anyone suggest anything that may be wrong? The thought of fishing Exmouth for the next 10 days without a sounder scares the absolute crap outa me.
Cheers
Ben

Have you got the manual
If you have the manual with you look in the back of it and it should have a section on fault finding., or hopefully some one on here who owns one can help you.

Might be painfully obvious...
...but have you double-checked your connections? Particularly the transducer-to-head unit one...

when you say blank, do you
when you say blank, do you mean nothing whatsoever or the sounder page but without any input from trans?
Try putting it in sounder demo mode and make sure the screen in the sounder function is actually working
See if you can find a friendly face at the ramp who has the same transducer, by parking close together it may be possible to take your HDS and plug into his power and trans to test?
Give a man a mask, and he'll show you his true face...
The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.
Everyone's just winging it.

Cheers for the input fellas.
Cheers for the input fellas. After lengthy phone calls to the lowrance dealer and testing the sounder on another blokes boat I have come to the conclusion the sonar output within the unit is cooked. The lowrance bloke mentioned he's never heard of this problem before. He said he can express post me a brand new Gen 2 HDS 10 for half the price. Not bad considering my unit is out of warranty and it's the older gen 1 model. The whole ordeal hasn't been too bad because the winds have been howling at Exy the past few days.

service with a smile
Gatta be happy about that outcome mate. It would be intereting to see how much difference you notice between the gen 1 & gen 2...
