Structure Scan Screen Shots

Hi All

As some of you would know I've just upgrade some of my electronics, I went out on the weekend for a spin in a local creek(as it was blowing 20+knots)to have a play with the new gear. As with everything it takes some time to learn, well it does for me anyway!! Thought some of you maybe interested in how the structure scan performed. The creek I tested it in does not have much structure but I was suprised at what I seen remembering that its the first time I've used it, cant wait until I learn to fine tune.

I have tried to explain how to read the screen shots in the below pic. I'm still learning myself but you should get the idea

Interesting that I had trolled over this small hole over the years and never knew it was a drain.

I'll do a full post on the Simrad once I get out and learn what its all about.

Cheers

CCC

Humminbird is good for 50m deep and 75m wide

Tue, 2011-10-04 21:20

It says that on all the product disclosures....Never anything less

If you were expecting anything outside that range you'd be an idiot

You may not have had a humminbird but it's the same as Lowrance i.e. they have a limited range.

If in doubt READ the instructions.

I love my humminbird for my style of fishing

Bad tradesmans always blames his tools!

Still useless for what

Wed, 2011-10-05 16:56

Still useless for what though?

I've had mine (humminbird) in 30m and sounded out the gemini nicely. I find it a really invaluable tool when finding ground or diving spots (mostly shallower when in tinny).

If you think its useless perhaps you're trying to apply it to something it never claimed to do or havent got it setup properly or dont know how to use it properly?
