Summer boating weather... Winds?

I'm relatively new to boating (3 months in) and was wondering if there is a change towards rougher boating conditions in Summer? I've heard of people talking about screaming easterlies and coming home in heavy chop in the afternoons. I've been monitoring a few sites like seabreeze, willyweather and BOM and all are showing pretty average boating conditions wind wise. Sorry if this seems like a dumb question but I just thought I'd speak to a few of the more experienced boaties on here and find out. Cheers guys!

easterlies

eastelies over 12 knots can make it pretty uncomfortable in a small boat.  with the wind pushing out to sea and the swell pushing toward land it makes for choppy conditions.  You want to time your trips so your fishing as the easterly dies off (if)

Yeah mate you can get the screaming easterlies on the hot days or the seabreaze (sou westerer) in by 8.30-9.00am some days. This can go on for days on end before a break. The swells will usually be pretty good through summer saying that I avoid heading out on anything over 2.5m.

plenty of options through summer if the easterly is blowing launch bit later you can always squid in the shelter somewhere then race out as it drops off.if the seabreeze if forecast strong, head southwest that way when it does come in you are riding it home

Strong easterlies, I just troll the beach /inshore for tailor in my tinny, missed a mack hook up doing so last summer, macks are my target this summer if we get the warm water again, get out further when wind isnt strong, arvo/evenings on hot days are good coz a high temp means a late, little or no seabreeze
