Surf Popper
Submitted by tyrone77 on Mon, 2013-05-06 19:57
As you all know about the large Tailor 67cm I caught on the weekend on a surf popper.
I had made a few poppers tonight. Feathers, beads and size 4 suicide.
Not bad for a first try. Hopefully this will fool them.
Happy Fishing.

That would be awesome.
Had a couple of good tailor sessions up at grenough over new years. Majority of fish were taken on the surf popper I found in my tackle box. Can't remember where I bought it! Can only find the ones that come in the cheap pre made rigs at big w. And they don't seem to be big enough or very well made.

Making them is simple enough
Making them is simple enough but if you can't be bothered bcf sells them for about $2ea in blue, red & lumo. Just a matter of wether or not they actually have them in stock at the time.
Just because I smile & nod does not mean I believe the crap coming out of your mouth.

That rig got me 14 salmon at
That rig got me 14 salmon at yagerup, mind you the gangs were bending out 1 in 2 fish, and the salmon ended up snapping the surf popper, they're good if you get 10 of em and replace the gangs with heavier duty or better quality. Next time I go ima get 20 and replace change them every couple fish, or you just put better gangs on..
Fishing and catching are two different things. But i want to learn how to catch.

The way the rig is made , its
The way the rig is made , its so easy to slide the old gang off and put good quality hooks on, not so sure about the hook on the popper tho. but for that price cant go wrong,
last fish i got on the popper was a nice fat 47cm tailor down preston beach, but was strange as i caught a 20cm whiting on the gang on a mulie, thought that was a bit wierd.
