surface clutter on sounder pic

cant get pic to rotate sorry!

seems like a get a lot of crap reading at the top of my sounder .

this is sitting still yesty off two rocks.

bottom reading is ok.

got 2 balies and 1 Dhu 75cm off this spot.

opinion on ground would be good also

as im reading broken flattish type coral bottom

ive also been told that the tails coming off the bottom is a good idication of good ground aslo (as per how to read a sounder book)

Why would you even bother with the top 20 metres

Zoom in on what you want to see, the Bottom and perhaps 10 metres and you will get far clearer definition

Does your sounder have a surface clarity setting? If so try setting that to high. Otherwise it might be worth playing around with the sensitivity, possibly turning it down although your reading on the bottom seems about right sensitivity wise.

I'm far from an expert on them so could be off the mark but that's what I'd try first.
