Surprise in 65m and PE3
Bit of a surprise when jigging for demersals on a little lump I spotted yesterday in 65m that we have never fished before...gave the Ocea Jigger 1500 and jigforce a bit of a workout....

Big FAT head...the fish..... in case your not sure.....

Chrisp, my trusty deckie and keen snakes alive consumer, followed up next drop with his PE3 XZoga indicating a nice fish...

Result, this cracker pinkie on jig.

Which was happily released to fight another day, making the capture even better seeing it swim off strongly

A few other surprises turned up.....this went hard on PE2, the Stella 4000PG getting a nice little workout.

Was a cracking day, ended up with bloody sore arms after hitting a patch of pretty nasty sambos in closer at another demersal spot, this time in 45m, that seems to have been overrun with larger models.....we needed PE5 to stop the fish....our mates in the boat in the background were running PE3 max, and while they landed a couple of absolute crackers, were rapidly running out of jigs so they called us over and then sat back and watched the fun.........both me and Chrisp ended in some very solid shallow water sambos, that always seem to go harder, while the other lads lost several more jigs on PE3 and PE2.........cheers fellas!!!

That looks like great fun John
nothing better than streatching the arms on strong fish in shallow water, except for the ever lightening jig bag

Awesome day by the look of it!
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Ended up being a fun day you
Ended up being a fun day you and Chris were getting alot more hookups than us on the ambers. I havent seen a pic of Daz's biggy yet not sure my photo taking skills were as good as Chris's. We had troubles picking that thing up whilst laughing/hooting at the same time haha. My perspective on BIG sambos in 40m=mayhem
Forever learning with fishing

Gotta keep going back over
Gotta keep going back over old spots and retesting. The last spot in 45 is an old favorite that has resulted in large dhu and snapper a few years ago, then nothing the last 3 or 4 times we have sounded over it. We sounded it and jigged for 30 minutes in the morning, nothing, then bang, it was all go later in the Arvo when we swung back through. Makes mw wonder about heaPs of other sPots I have deleted after not getting anything.

good to see you got into some action
i never revisit spots in the same day if there's been nothing on them first try.
maybe i'll have to now. good work. those big skippy are fun too
If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.
