Suzuki DF100B vs DF100A

So besides the obvious weight saving with the 100B sharing the same block as the 70/80/90 and the 100A sharing the same as the 115 and 140, why would one go for the 100A? Suzuki are going to continue to sell it, what advantages would it have seeing as it has the same output?

What about economy? From a mechanical perspective, which one would use more fuel?

logically speaking the b
logically speaking the b should be a bit more economical due to the less weight but if the only diff is block size there shouldnt be much at all. but i could be wrong with my assumptions just going on power to weight ratios

May have the same
May have the same 'horespower' output but the overall torque on the 100A would be better suited for larger boats, hence they are not discontinuing those engines.
The 70a/80a/90a adapt a smaller gearcase so the new 100B is practically the same design with the same block and gearcase.
100A models along with the 115a/140a have a much bigger gearbox in comparison.
Larger gearcase, larger block, larger thrust through the hub of the bigger propeller and there you go - much better performance out of a heavier boat if you were to compare the 100a and 100b on the same vessel.
