Submitted by GraemeE on Sat, 2020-10-17 17:25
hi guys..have a dt75 that needs the start ya bastard when cold..Did a compression test showing 90 over all 3 cylinders. Haven't done a warm test yet. Once its warmed up it doesnt miss a beat and starts first kick. Any ideas whether it needs a rebuild or maybe there is another problem somewhere.. Cheers

Start with a good service first
Pay someone who knows what they're doing to have a look at it for you. This will save you a lot of time and money over the long run.
My wife understands why I clean my rods n reels in the shower....

If your handy
If it starts first time after it warms up the engine won't need a rebuild.
First id be looking at the auto choke, see if it pulls on or do it manually to see if the butterfly is closing all the way.
If thats not it pull your carby off, pull it apart and give it a really good clean, make sure you clean all the little holes in it and both jets.
If you dont no how to do it and as i said if your handy just youtube it, there is a wealth of info on how to clean them. The carby is not hard to do or to pull off
