Suzuki fuel gauge

Hi guys recently had fitted a new 140 Suzuki and gauges. The problem is I can't get the fuel gauge to read right and trying to get the people that fitted it back to fix it is taking to long.so my question is does anyone know how I can calibrate the gauge it was reading half , removed the resistor as told and now it reads 3/4 any help would be awesome

was the resistor you removed a 250 ohm resistor if yes that means it is hart compatible , which means you can connect a smart communicator to it

I'am not sure it was set up with Yamaha electronic gauges so fuel gauge was on there, and for the resistor I don't know the resistance I took out will have a look when I get home

it wont have a resistance printed on it but send me the color code on it and I will work it out for you (there will be stripes on it leading down to an either silver or gold stripe)

Mate it is like any fuel

Mate it is like any fuel gauge, you have to learn it so you know where u stand. If you know how much the boat holds fill the tank up then go out and refill. That is the best way IMO to work out. That is what I have do e as the ocean is nearly never flat so you are never really going to get an accurate reading from your gauge anyway

I do agree with you , but if you have your boat parked in the drive way on level ground and just had the fuel gauge installed you would want to think it word be accurate, think of it this way if your leg trim indicator told you it was fully trimmed in and you knew it was still half way out would you be happy , I doubt it or if you battery indicatory told you it was not being charged but checked it with a M/M and found it was charging would you be happy I doubt it or if your taco was miles out , these things arnt hard to fix just have to know how, prepared to offer my services to any fish wrecked member that need problems like that sorted free of charge , early retirement is bloody boring and want to keep my hand in
